Emma

Emma is currently studying Medicine at Kings College London, having graduated from UCL with an MSc in Cardiovascular Science (Distinction) and a BSc in Biomedical Sciences (1st Class (Hons)). She loves to teach Maths and Science and has been tutoring a wide range of pupils for almost five years. In her spare time, she loves being active and this year is cycling from London to Paris for charity.

Jacob

Astrid

She greatly enjoys teaching Maths, Science, and English and has been working with a wide range of children during her time at university. In her spare time she is a keen hockey player for her university hockey team.

Anthony

Anthony has been tutoring for Superior Learning for 4 years. In that time he has garnered extensive teaching experience at all levels in Maths and English up to Year 9. He is especially adept at guiding kids through the 7+, 8+, 11+ and Common Entrance exams. Anthony graduated with a degree in English Literature at the University of York achieving a 2:1, and later achieved a Masters Degree from the Royal Academy of Music.

Serge

Serge graduated with a degree in Philosophy from UCL, having previously excelled in Maths and Science. He has acquired a wealth of experience teaching Maths, English, Physics and Philosophy to a wide range of students ranging from 11+ up to A-level. His expertise include helping students work towards entrance exams and GCSEs. His spare time is enjoyed listening and playing to music, and reading and writing short-stories.

Dillon

Nia

Nia is an experienced tutor, writer and arts education consultant with more than 10 years of experience in developing and delivering schools programmes across the cultural sector. She has an undergraduate degree in English Literature and Language and an MA in Cultural and Creative Industries, both from King’s College London. She has experience in working with special needs and 11+ students and specialises in tutoring English from primary through to A level. In her spare time (when she can find any), Nia enjoys reading, travelling, cooking and eating!

Oliver

Jamie

Originally brought up in Surrey and educated at Hampton School before moving to Spain for Sixth Form, Jamie graduated from UCL with a BA in French and Spanish in 2016. Since then, he has set up a successful tuition service in Madrid and has worked for leading global tech companies. He has extensive tutoring experience with Maths and English, up to GCSE and 11+ respectively. He also teaches Spanish and French to any level. In his spare time, Jamie dabbles in playing the guitar and volunteers as an English teacher at a charity specialising in social and labour market integration for migrants and refugees.

 Miranda

Miranda has worked in Nursery/Primary Education for the last 35 years. She is a qualified Learning Support teacher (OCR level 5) and has had extensive experience working with dyslexic and dyspraxic children.  For the last ten years she has worked at a leading independent prep school in Oxford teaching children on a one-to-one basis and supporting them in the classroom. Miranda has recently moved to London and looking to further her career as our SEN tutor at Superior Learning.

Obada

Obada is a 4th year medical student at King’s College London. He has a wealth of experience teaching A-level Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology, as well as a wide range of GCSE subjects. In addition, he has been heavily involved in aiding students in their applications to being accepted to study medicine at some of the top universities in the world. Being fluent in both English and Arabic allows him to communicate with a wide range of people from different backgrounds. Some of his passions outside of medicine include sports such as swimming and marital arts, as well as being involved in a start-up mobile app business. He is also involved in research projects related to medical/health tech innovations in the aims of revolutionising healthcare.

She specialises in English literacy, delivering a play based curriculum.

David

A former secondary Science teacher with 7 years experience inside the classroom, David went on to work with Zoological Society of London, Natural History Museum and is now the Education Manager for Royal Hospital Chelsea. With a Bsc Hons degree in Biological Sciences and having completed a Chemistry Enhancement Course before his PGCE, David has a wealth of experience to add to a keen interest in Ecology and Natural Sciences which has seen him undertake voluntary work with the Wildlife Trust and Operation Walacea. When David isn’t teaching or looking for wildlife, he enjoys extreme sports, playing guitar and learning Spanish.

Betty

She enjoys working with children of all ages up to GCSE but specialises in working with younger children on their 7+, 11+ and 13+ common entrance work. She graduated from the University of York with a First in Music BA(hons) and later went on to study for a Masters at Mountview Academy. Betty also enjoys running and staying active, so when she is not working with kids, you can usually find her sweating, singing or a combination of the two.

Jessica

She has 13 years of experience teaching elementary, intermediate and secondary levels but her area of interest is teaching secondary creative and formal writing and English literatures. In her day to day teaching, Jessica focuses on making connections with students, meeting their needs and engaging them to create the best opportunities for academic growth. Outside of teaching, she is a mother of two and enjoys running, painting and cooking.

Claire

Claire Oxley is a progression specialist. This means that she helps school and college pupils move from one important stage to another, most notably to university. She holds degrees from the universities of Lancaster and Oxford, has been a head of sixth form; over the past few years, Claire has worked with companies providing innovative training for staff and employee bodies, has been at the forefront of helping students from very varied backgrounds gain places at competitive universities, and has realised her own creativity in the form of studio painting practice. She also teaches Critical Thinking, and gives practice interviews for competitive university places, including medicine, the Arts, and Oxbridge.

Mimi is currently in the second year of her MFA in creative writing at NYU, having graduated with a first in English Literature and American Studies from the University of Sussex. She has experience teaching English, but is also suited to teaching History, RE, Sociology and Media to all ages. She is also able to help students with entrance exam, GCSE and A-Level prep. In her spare time, she likes to read, write and eat noodles.

Sachin

He particularly enjoys working at the interface of different subjects, exploring how combined knowledge can be applied in unique ways. He achieved 3 A*s in his Scottish Advanced Highers in Maths, Physics and Chemistry, in addition to an A* in Higher English. In his spare time, Sachin enjoys playing a variety of sports including golf and cricket.

Liz

Ross

Most of his primary schooling occurred in Asia and Australia before completing senior education in Edinburgh, having picked up a love for learning Mandarin along the way. In his spare time he plays a number of instruments, including the bagpipes which he is careful to play when the neighbours are at work.

Jill has twenty five years experience in early years education. She has spent the last fourteen years teaching reception class in an independent school . During her time at this setting she also developed a yoga and mindfulness programme aimed at children from 2 to 12 years of age. Jill has tutored many EFL students in English conversation,reading and writing and worked with children in key stage one requiring additional support with literacy and numeracy skills. She is passionate about promoting positive dispositions towards learning and proactive towards fostering a growth mindset in her students. In her spare time, Jill practices yoga, enjoys wild swimming and visiting art galleries with friends.

Prasadini

Shahnaz

She is currently a secondary school Mathematics teacher with seven years’ classroom experience as well as experience outside of school tutoring individuals, particularly in preparation for their GCSE examinations. In her spare time, Kim is an avid street and tap dancer and enjoys baking, walking her dog, Marvin, and trips to the theatre.

Maeve

Maeve is a Qualified and Experienced Primary School Teacher across all age groups; 3 – 11 years. She has taught for seven years across Independent and State Schools. Previously she worked at the British International School, New York as Head of Early Years. Whilst there, she successfully transitioned classes from in person learning to remote learning using and building on platforms such as seesaw, pear deck and screencastify to deliver high quality lessons. Prior to that Maeve taught in London as Year 2 Lead and Head of Maths which included teaching and preparing Year 2 and Year 6 children for their SATS examinations. Maeve received her PGCE Level 7 Masters Credits (2015) at Oxford Brookes University and for her undergraduate course, Maeve studied Philosophy and Classics at Nottingham University BA Joint Hons (2013) When not teaching Maeve enjoys training for marathons and raising money for charities!

Suzanne

Having had a successful career in Analytics Consulting with IBM, she is making the jump to teaching and will be starting her Mathematics PGCE course in September 2021 at King’s College, London. Throughout her time at IBM, Suzanne mentored A-level and undergraduate students as well as ran the graduate recruitment process for her team. Her consultancy background means Suzanne is adept at building relationships with a wide range of people and can break down problems in a clear, concise way. She is keen to share her passion for mathematics and deliver creative, galvanising sessions to her students.

Savarnah

Savarnah is a currently a Teacher of English at an inner London secondary school. She trained for her PGCE at UCL Institute of Education and studied a BA in Religion, Politics and Society at KCL, with a particular focus on Religion and the arts. She has experience working with students of all abilities from ages 11-18. In particular, her strengths are teaching the AQA GCSE English Literature and English Language syllabuses; however, she does have knowledge of the assessment and marking other examination boards and qualifications such as iGCSE and the IB MYP. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring new cultures through food, reading and acting through the medium of Dungeons and Dragons. At her school, Savarnah hosts a creative writing extra-curricular which enables participants to spend the year planning and writing their own short plays. This ties into her overall teaching ethos, which is focused on engaging students in creating their own texts; by doing this they develop their understanding of writers choices when they analyse texts.

Annelise

Annelise is in her fourth year at Cambridge University studying Classics. When she is not studying you can find her training for the London Marathon or learning new recipes as an avid cook. Annelise has a true passion for education; she has worked as a tutor alongside her studies amassing over 200 hours of tuition, specialising in 11+ and Common Entrance preparation as well as Latin, Greek, English and Oxbridge preparation from KS1 to undergraduate level. Annelise has also worked at a school for 4 months in Guangzhou, China as well as at an orphanage in Sri Lanka; experiences where she found immense satisfaction in helping children develop their confidence in and enjoyment of learning. Annelise has helped many students achieve admission to top UK public schools such as Eton, Harrow, Winchester and City of London school. She has a deep knowledge of all aspects of the Common Entrance and 11+ exam as well as of application and interview processes for specific schools. Annelise combines her deep knowledge of these exam processes and schools with her commitment to helping children to achieve their academic goals, whatever they may be.

Natalia

Carlos

He keeps busy by taking care of his two rambunctious children, ages 10 and 6, and by studying foreign languages.

Ron

Ron has mentored adults in Business English, rewritten speeches for foreign born politicians and guided at least a dozen tutees to Oxford and Cambridge including the TSA and the LNAT. Having taught in international schools He stays abreast of innovations in curricula providing a comforting dynamic where the student’s needs are always paramount.

Intermediate

Intermediate tutors are moderately experienced but no less impressive. They are graduates with the relevant knowledge, significant teaching experience and a dedicated, personable approach. Tutors in this group are more than familiar with the required content and are working towards Senior status!

Hana

Sebastien

In a previous life, Seb toured all over Europe, playing in his band, whilst having his music aired on national radio stations and television. Having changed career, Seb graduated with a History degree and now has a number of years within education. He loves his decision to become a teacher, thoroughly enjoying guiding youngsters to meet their full potential across all subjects.

Yasemin

Elowyn

Emma is best suited to teaching English at all levels and Maths to GCSE level. Outside of tutoring, Emma is a supply teacher and enjoys spending time with her dog, Prudie.

Alex

He ran his own tutoring agency in Sydney for several years, with a focus on tutoring International Baccalaureate, A Level and local syllabuses. He currently works on a range of projects for film, television, musical theatre and the concert hall.

She’s a project manager who’s worked in Tech and Big Telecoms, with a passion for coaching and Learning and Development. In her spare time Orlagh loves to run, bake and bring her puppy for walks!

Liliana

Chlöe

He now lives in London and studies Economics and Economic History at LSE after completing his A-Levels as a sixth form scholar. Freddie’s academic track record is exceptional, having achieved three A* at A-level and an A* in his EPQ, he also received an award from Pearson Education for outstanding performance at GCSE. Outside his studies Freddie is a keen tennis player, musician, historian and traveller.

She is a native Mandarin speaker from Beijing and she is also an experienced tutor with over 200 hours tutoring provided to students ranging from Year 5 to 13 (A-level). She enjoys not only teaching Mandarin, but also inspiring students with Chinese history, art and culture. Outside tutoring, she is an engineer working in transport industry in London, a dog lover, an origami enthusiast and a passionate cyclist.

Lizzie takes pride in the relationships that she builds with her pupils and is an incredibly personable, supportive teacher.

Alex was born in South Africa before he moved to London and went to Harrow school where he achieved A*AAB at A-Level including Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Currently, Alex is studying biochemistry at the University of Leeds which he hopes will lead to oncology/toxicology type research. He recently spent time at UK Biocentre performing tests on patient samples to help fight the coronavirus pandemic. Outside the classroom Alex is strong cricketer having represented both Oxfordshire and Middlesex at county level.

Oliver

Oliver graduated from the University of Kent with a bachelor’s degree in Politics and International Relations and a master’s degree in International Business and Management, obtaining a 2:1 and a Merit respectively. After traveling around mainland China for two months, he taught English at a vocational college in Hong Kong. Oliver’s passions include playing the guitar, learning Mandarin, traveling, and hiking. In addition to general English tutoring, he can also help with IELTS, CV, and job interview preparation, as well as 11+ and Common Entrance maths and English.

Andy first qualified in Psychology and English, and then gained an Honours Degree in Philosophy in South Africa before moving to the UK in 2007 and working as a supply teacher in various inner-London schools. After further studies and experience he followed his passion and switched to a PGCE in Physics, and he has been teaching science full-time since 2017. He teaches Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in KS3, but specialises in Physics for GCSE. In his spare time he reads books on the history of science, and he enjoys using this contextual insight to help students gain a deeper understanding of the subject. He has a wide range of resources, and a wealth of experience with helping KS3 students gain a firm foundation of fundamental concepts in all three sciences, and then with building up to, and preparing for GCSEs in Physics. When he can tear himself away from science he enjoys reading fantasy and classics, introducing his children to good music, drinking tea, and playing with his cat.

Ali has recently graduated from the University of Bristol with a master’s in Civil Engineering, achieving a 2:1. Ali was educated in London up until she was 13 and then continued her education in Oxford having gained an academic and art scholarship. Whilst at school, Ali enjoyed rowing and represented her school as part of the girl’s 1st VIII internationally. Her interest in Art has recently led her to start a t-shirt business, the designs for which stem from her own artwork. She has considerable experience tutoring GCSE and A-level Maths students online, helping them to achieve their desired grade from a variety of different exam boards. She is also available to tutor 11+ and common entrance level, science up to GCSE and Physics A-level.

Junior tutors are our newest members of the team. They have the relevant qualifications and some teaching experience, whilst being eager to gain more. Tutors from this pool have impressed us early on and shown promise that they will become Senior tutors with time. This is a great way to explore tutoring at a fraction of the cost and to find a hidden gem! It is worth noting that the majority of our Senior Tutors started here.
